I found my Janfire NH mody this morning, or actually smelled it, in a strange state. The green LED was ok, there was no error message on the screen, but the screen itself was blinking rapidly between off and on.
There was a lot of smoke as well, but after investigating there wasn't any backfire or anything, just a lot of charred and still glowing embers in the burning bowl. Without the fan draft they were smoking a ton and not burning properly. The unit had heated up a little bit, but not much more as usual, I'm guessing it was just warmer because of the lack of the running fan.
I cleaned up the bowl and repowered the unit to see what it would do, but it just went back to the flashing screen status directly. No start sequence at all.
Anyone ever seen that problem?

NH mody, screen blinking, green LED
Re: NH mody, screen blinking, green LED
If no sign-on appears after power-on there's something wrong with the control unit. The blinking display makes me believe that the internal powersupply might on the fritz.
Solution is to swap the controller unit.
